Edgar Alan Poe
We just started reading poe in school and he is amazing. I can’t help but love him. I’ve only read his short story hop-frog but i love its morbid and bizzare nature. I’m considering reading The Cask of Amontillado tonight . So far I’ve really enjoyed every book we’ve read in English. I must admit I even liked reading Walden outloud to my mom and discussing it with her. True nerd at heart :]. Although Enlgish has been really hard this year (and my worst grade on my report card) a lot of the time i feel like I’m in a giant book club instead of an English classroom.

All-Purpose
I realise i only post to tumblr when I have something deep to say but im not really like this all the time. It’s been gloomy weekend and returning from reading walden by henry david thoreau has left me questioning. What’s my purpose? Do i have one? Thoreau believed himself to be a philanthropist by writing about philisophy. And i feel like he really had a main purpose, and goal in life.
He seems like the kind-of guy who would want you to discuss his ideas instead of just mindlessly following them. I mean the guy’s famous line was, “simplicity, simplicity, simplicity” but i can’t help but think we complicate our lives more and more each day. Blegh everytime i open the wound that is my mind it bleeds more and more. I never really get to the point of anything. I guess what I’m trying to say is does this amount to anything? I feel like i was put here to do somethign i just don’t know what, and distracting myself with superfluities doesn’t seem to be doing much.
Hopefully my history homework counts as a distraction.
Sarah Palin Prank Call-make sure to listen to the audio
So sometime before today these two canadian comedians prank phone called sarah palin pretending to be the french president sarcozy and she fell for it! Despite how hilarious it was it kind of made me sad too. During the entitre thing palin sounded so desperate and i couldnt help but notice how short of a time it took for her to get to the phone. AND she missed a few key points like “sarcozy” saying his wife is “hot in bed” and how they’ll both go hunting together but be careful not to pull a cheney. So i guess i do have a heart when it comes to sarah palin, *sigh*. But this just shows another reason why her stupidity will ruin the country. Oh and make sure to note the french equiviallant to joe the plumber, its a good one. :]
