I don’t really understand why everyone is so shocked about this fact. You need the CEO of a company to blatantly say this for you to understand a company’s image? I’ve walked by Abercrombie and Abercrombie and Fitch stores since I moved to the suburbs at 6 years old. I’ve never looked good in their clothes and I never will.

I’m glad he’s being honest because now more people can open their eyes to a fact that’s been obvious to me for so long. Most of the stores we’re supposed to shop in as teenagers and young adults (abercrombie and fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, PacSun, foreveror 21) all cater to the same body type. Not much in those stores looks flattering on curvy women. When I would try stuff on in these stores and look in the mirror it made me feel disgusting. I hated the way I looked, but according to the advertisements on the wall with people older than me who I looked up to, this was what I was supposed to be wearing.

It’s cute that now Abercrombie’s message is so obvious because of what this dumb man has said and people are “taking action” by throwing their sweatshirts in the trash.

Don’t wait for someone to tell you something is wrong. Figure it out for yourself.
